After she attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine and earned her degree in 1976, Dr. Gail Weingast completed a long list of internships, residencies and fellowships at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, until she felt that she has a solid enough background as a radiologist. She completed her post-graduate studies in 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver, and soon after, she practiced at a number of hospitals, mostly in Colorado, but also in New York, before she finally settled into the position that would define her career, asa radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Connecticut.
Dr. Gail Weingast has been at Backus Hospital for more than two decades now. In that time, she has been able to guide their radiology department into its current position as a premiere medical facility in New England and beyond. These days, Dr. Weingast is their Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. However, while her path to her current important position wasn't always a straight line, she values every aspect of her educational and career journey because it has all contributed to make her the fine doctor she is today.
